About

I’m Olivia Rich, a graduate student in Mental Health Counseling with a strong foundation in psychology, creative education, and community engagement. I’m passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow, whether in the classroom, the counseling room, or the heart of a summer camp.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Pace University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and am currently completing my M.S. in Mental Health Counseling. My experience spans work with children, families, and communities, most notably through Discover Camp, where I’ve spent several summers developing and leading enrichment programs, managing daily operations, and capturing the spirit of camp through creative media. These roles have deepened my belief in empathy-driven leadership and the power of purposeful, relationship-centered work.

As a counselor-in-training, I take a culturally responsive approach that centers curiosity, trust, and collaboration, while focusing on each person’s strengths and potential. I’m drawn to this work not only to support others, but also to walk alongside them, to listen fully, respond thoughtfully, and tailor care to each person’s unique lived experience.

Beyond academics and clinical work, I find meaning in storytelling, travel, and advocacy. I’m especially committed to causes like suicide prevention and Alzheimer’s research, and I find joy in the small, human moments that connect us.
